I have a few that have talked about coming out and riding with me from time to time, but until today no one has been able to make it out with me. Earlier this week I spoke to a friend about doing just that and low and behold she came out and rocked 34.5 miles like it was nothing. We took the Mt. Vernon Trail, which is quite challenging (the last two miles are uphill) and came back to Hains Point to finish up a tough ride. Some might ask, "What's so tough about 34 miles?" Dionne hadn't ridden her bike in 2 full years, now that's Beast Mode Too… Get out, get up and do something!
Of course it wasn't all work and struggle, we stopped to talk and catch up on life, but the ride was just the work out I needed. We also found a Former Slave Gravesite and memorial in Alexandria, Va. that I had no idea existed. There are so many things to discover if you just open your eyes and allow yourself to see.
