Distance: 16.31 Miles
Pedaling Time: 1 Hours 35 Minutes
Real Time: 1 Hours 40 Minutes
My legs felt great today, but I still don't want to push it too hard, after all I have 3 more days of riding ahead of me before my 2 day break. Today's trip was quick and easy. I decided to take the George Mason Bridge into Va. then go past Theodore Roosevelt Island, finally ending up by the Kennedy Center and back home through DC. All told I only did 16 miles but I felt great just getting the work in. The Mount Vernon Trail towards Roosevelt Island is fairly stress free and not all that difficult to manage, even for a beginner. If you take the route toward the Kennedy you will get some breath taking views from the Roosevelt Bridge, but it can be a bit much for the faint hearted as you are in a slender lane looking at 4 lane traffic coming towards you with only a guard rail that separates you, Yikes… Seriously, it's nothing too scary but, I rather you be aware before you get on it and clam up. I followed this back to East Potomac Park (Hains Point) and finally back home.

The take away is this: There are too many trails to choose to pick the wrong one, it all depends on your skill level, amount of time you have and what you want to see.
