A Day To Reflect… Thursday, July 31st 2014 Day 3

Kennedy Center, Watergate & Washington Monument
Today's ride was definitely going to start out as light hearted and under 15 miles. My legs are still tired from the 44 miler that started off the program and it's starting to show now, but I am forcing myself to trudge through in order to meet my goals. I started off by driving to Hain's Point and riding over to Rosslyn, Va. and then heading back over to Georgetown and finally ending up at the Korean War Memorial. This was a ride for pleasure so I just took in the great weather and made it part work out and part sightseeing.

If you are in the area, I seriously recommend that you take the time to check out the Korean War Memorial, The Lincoln Memorial & The Reflecting Pool, they are so worth the time and the fact that they are free makes them the best deal in the city. As a matter of fact, as I rode around I found myself being grateful that I am in a city that encourages you to whistle while you work and helps to take your mind off of the task(s) at hand. There's no place that I would rather try to lose 45 pounds in 30 days in, it's easy here, so much to look at, so much to take in and so many that encourage you just by being active. You gotta Love D.C.
