I started my day off by driving to The Chuck Brown Memorial in N.E. Wash. DC and took some great pictures. It's a fitting tribute to the God Father of Go-go and, in my opinion, a "must see", especially if you are from this area. The forecast called for thunderstorms in the late afternoon, so of course that meant that I needed to wait until then to go ride. Go figure, right? The picture above was taken as I started my trip and as you can see the rain clouds (seen in the foreground) were coming on soon, but there was no way the threat of thunder and lightning would stop this big dummy! I rode downtown, took some photos and headed over to Rosslyn, Va. As I started to turn back and end my trip I decided it would be a great idea to press on over to Arlington, a mere 10 minute addition to my trip, and that's when the heavens decided to let loose. It was a freaking monsoon, I mean the wind was whipping, the rain was blinding and the sky was ripping with lightening. What did I do, you might ask. I, of course rode right through it like the idiot that I can sometimes be, and proceeded to have the ride of my life. It was probably the most fun I've ever had on a bike. I almost ate it at least 10 times and boy was it worth it. As you can see from the last picture I was rewarded with a breathtaking rainbow that lead right my vehicle. Today was a great day…
